Meet Our Editors

Karen Lusky, BA, MSN, RN, is a healthcare writer who has covered post-acute reimbursement, geriatric medicine, and quality-of-care issues for 20 years. She is editor of Eli’s MDS Alert and Long-Term Care Survey Alert. Ms. Lusky has clinical experience in a variety of areas, including geropsychiatry and case management for long-term care recipients.

Mary Compton, PhD, CPC has written and edited publications in the long-term care and rehab markets for most of her nine years with Eli Research. As a writer, she’s covered assisted living business strategies, long-term care compliance and news, and rehab in inpatient and outpatient settings. In her current role as editorial director, she works closely with the post-acute writers and has overseen new product launches in hospice and wound care.

Lindsey Rushmore has been writing about the rehab industry since 2005. She covers all rehab settings, both inpatient and outpatient in the flagship rehab publication, Eli’s Rehab Report. She attends national rehab conferences annually and speaks regularly with top industry leaders and the three key professional rehab associations, APTA, AOTA, and ASHA.

Erin Lang Masercola, PhD, CPC has written and edited health care publications for Eli Research & The Coding Institute for more than 10 years. Most recently, she been working with technical types to bring Eli’s classic, easy-to-understand, how-to articles to the Internet, and to help our readers form professional networks around our content.
